High School Reunion

"These are memories frozen in time people!" -Can't Hardly Wait

This past weekend I was able to attend my 10 High School Reunion in Oregon. It was so fun to see the green trees and spend time on the roads with decent drivers. I'm happy that Oregon has a no talking/no texting while driving law :)
As for Carter he was an excellent travel companion, he slept during both flights, and was a trooper even though he spent a total of 12 hours in a car and 4 hours on a plane.
The reunion was fun, it's interesting how you don't see or talk to people for ten years then the second I saw them their first and last name popped into my head. Most classmates looked the same and some unfortunately still acted the same, but I think that is just what happens at reunions.
I quoted a lot of Romy & Michele's High School Reunion lines, which made me smile. "That's Sandy Frink? What the heck was I thinking!"
Mostly I thought it was interesting how now days with social networking people were able to skip the questions where have you been and simply say things like, "Your kids are so cute!" or "What was it like to live in Hawaii?" Not because we stayed in touch the past ten years, but because they read my profile and looked at my pictures online. I thought this put a spin on the whole reunion thing.
Lastly, it was very sad to leave Oregon, this was the place I grew up, and I don't know when I will be back again :(

Birthday Party

Last week was Elise's 2nd birthday. With a Dora themed party she was sooooooooooo happy, mostly because she was hyped up on sugar ALL day long. She got her own oven to cook with and fake food with pots and pans to practice with. She also loved her Dora doll and Dora cell phone she got. It definitely doesn't take kids long to associate their birthday with cake and presents! All day long she kept saying, "It's my birthday, I want to open presents!" My favorite thing about her birthday was when Daniel said, "When did she become a real person?" I thought this was so true, they are babies then all of the sudden you can carry on a conversation with them.
This week Carter turned 5 months old and he is starting to get so big so fast! He can roll over pretty good now and can almost sit up. We finally moved him in his own crib to share his with room with Elise. So far so good, when I hear him cry I rush in like superwoman so he won't wake up Elise. A few more weeks and I'm sure they will get used to each other. I am so excited for my trip to Oregon next week for my high school reunion. I just hope Carter's behaves on the airplane. Fingers crossed!

"Total Eclipse of the Heart..."

This week I saw the highly anticipated third movie in the Twilight saga, Eclipse. It was everything a viewer would want. Action, romance, cheesy lines and funny lines too. I wasn't planning on seeing the first midnight showing, but I guess the 17 year old in me couldn't stand others seeing it before me. All in all, as much as I try and pretend I am not a fan, I most definitely am. Maybe it was all those late nights in my room when I couldn't sleep because of being too pregnant or baby not sleeping that I would watch New Moon over and over again. I can't believe the next one doesn't come out until 11/18/11, that's almost a year in a half away! However, I'm sure all the fans will patiently wait.
This week Carter went swimming for the first time, he lasted about 15 minutes, cried and then fell asleep. Elise is learning new songs everyday. She loves itsy bitsy spider, ring around the rosey, and popcorn popping. Have a great fourth of July weekend everybody...we are off to Idaho again! I said vote yes...vote for Independency!
