Milestones to Flinstones! I have a point I promise. First of all Carter is now moving forward way faster than his sister did. Carter's new nickname: Bam Bam from the Flintstones. This is because of his enormous strength. He can now stand up on his own and walk around furniture. This week he stood up twice by himself without holding onto anything. I am told that Daniel started walking at 8 months old, it seems that our son might follow in his Poppa's footsteps. Time will tell. Lastly Carter finally got his first tooth.
As for Elise she got a haircut and was very helpful this week while Mommy was recovering from surgery. She kept saying, "does your tummy still hurt? Did the doctor fix your owies?" It was cute. She also seems to have a lot more energy, lately she just runs around the house dancing and twirling, yet she never seems to get tired. I guess that is the life of a toddler.
Daniel's Lyman Eagles Football Team is on a winning streak, winning their last 3 games!
As for me, I am still recovering from surgery, loving the world of Lortab and am most excited for Elise's new shoes I ordered for this winter. Check out the pics below.

So I am feeling slightly better today and less loopy from the pain meds. Last week Wednesday I had a terrible stomach ache. I thought it was something I ate. When I got home after work I thought I had a stomach flu. Then all the sudden my pain went to the lower right hand side of my stomach. After tossing and turning most of the night I went ahead and pushed myself to go to work Thursday morning, but the pain kept increasing! I looked up appenticitis symptoms online and I had everything on the list. I decided to go to my doctor (30 minute drive), and he thought I had appendicitis as well. After all day of blood work, ultrasounds, and a CT-SCAN at the hostpital, the doctors finally figured out that it was indeed my appendix. I then got admited to the ER and got an emergency appendectomy. Now I am home recuperating; the only sad thing is I can't pick anything up ie, my kids. My mom came out from Idaho to help. Thanks to everyone for all the get well wishes. The only thing I can say is the next time you have a tummy ache, DONT IGNORE IT!

Rendezvous Weekend

This labor day weekend we attended the Fort Bridger Rendezvous here in Wyoming. It is a mountain man rendezvous in celebration of the Fur Trade Era that occurred in the Rocky Mountains between 1825-1840. It is one of the largest mountain man gatherings in the nation. People dress up in mountain man outfits and we even saw a man in chaps yes chaps! The women wore pioneer looking attire with bonnets. Many demonstrations were held. Elise's favorite one was, the candy canon. Native American dancing was a highlight and seeing all the people camping in their tepees. The food wasn't bad either, we enjoyed buffalo burgers, cream soda and a funnel cake. Enjoy some pics!

Island Kids

This week Carter had his 6 month check up. He now weighs 19 pounds and 3 ounces and is 26 inches long. He is starting to make vowel sounds. He can make the sound mama, at least that is what it sounds like to me. He loves to eat, so far he loves rice cereal and any baby food we've given him so far. Daniel insists he is a mama's boy. When he sees me he always cries until I pick him up. He likes me, he really likes me!
We have had some sunny days and days of thunderstorms here in the valley. I have been trying to get the kids out as much as possible before it gets cold. Enjoy some cute pics of the kiddos.
