The Quest for Tiny Spicy Chicken

My sister Kirse and two of her kids came to visit.  They live in Washington and we don't get to see them very often. So we had been looking forward to their visit for some time.  Kirse was on a mission to find tiny spicy chicken, a meal she had been drooling over for 17 years that she once had in Logan. We looked and looked, but sadly this dreamy Chinese meal was not found. Her visit was pretty much the best ever, but alas they are now gone....a few hours after they left Elise said, "Mommy I wish Aunt Kirse lived here." How cute is that? I am glad the kids got to hang out with their cousins and the best was Kirse became my own personal Super Nanny and made my bedtime routine with my kids a 100% easier....oh the words of wisdom she has! We took them all around to our favorite local spots, enjoy! :) We are now off to Idaho for two weeks to enjoy the 4th and Elise's 4th birthday. Time flies!

Such a great picture, it really captures the fun the kids had swimming and going down the water slides

Kirse taught me about back shots (taking pictures of the kids from behind because it is so hard to get them to look at the camera anyway). So here are a few...

Last Saturday we were able to attend Summerfest at the Tabernacle here in Logan. It is an art and music festival held once a year. The kids had fun listening to music, getting balloon animals, eating yummy food, doing arts and crafts and best of all Carter got his face painted like Spiderman...priceless.

Arts and crafts: Designing a hat
Coloring ornaments
Cotton candy, mostly wanted because it is pink

Madagascar 3

Okay so we did it, we saw Madagascar 3 in 3D at the theater.  The fun back story to this is when Elise saw a preview last December for this movie. She asked, "When can we see that movie?" I told her it would come out in the summer near her birthday. Since then she's asked constantly if the movie was out in the theater yet. So I decided to make a little game out of it. For the last month the kids have had reward charts posted in their room to earn stickers to go see the movie. Happy to say they each earned 30 stickers and watched the whole movie (which is really good btw). Anyways the night before the movie came out we were at the park with the kids. I was talking to the other moms about how excited we were to see Madagascar 3. One mom said, "What's Madagascar?" Another mom said, "Oh I've never seen 1 or 2," then the last mom said, "I didn't know they were making a new one." Needless to say I felt pretty hip in the mom department and my kids are still talking about it!

All ready with their glasses!
